5dots (in brief)

I listened to this Cloud Nothings record after already realizing I was probably going to like it. And I did, and said to myself, “you will want to hear this again soon. Keep this on your phone.”

Yesterday, I finally pulled it up again, and was blown away all over again. Then I listened to it twice today.

Yes, it’s in the trend of a lot of the lo-fi pop that’s been around lately. What separates it is its economy. My favorite song, “Been Through”, has one verse, chorus, and bridge. And I mean, literally one, each - the one verse just repeats without any changes. Not a lot of words used in any of them. Yet it’s insanely catchy and relatable. This is one of those albums that makes so much out of so little, and is pretty astounding for it. It sounds like you should be able to make a record like this pretty easily, but you totally can’t.

It’s all great, but here are three songs:

    Been Through

    Nothing’s Wrong

    Rock
