5dots (in brief)
-
[Flash 9 is required to listen to audio.]
I told my ladyfriend today that I’d spent most of my workday listening to Superchunk, and she said, “what, was it the 90’s in your office?”
Truth be told, I have been aware of Superchunk for a very long time but never bothered to listen to them. They always seemed like part of a scene that wasn’t really for the likes of me; maybe they were for older kids. But they’ve been promoting their newest album this year quite a bit, and I finally actually heard some songs of theirs, and I was intrigued. I was told that the best place to start is their singles collections, and that definitely served me well: I immediately fell in love with this song.
Slack Motherfucker
Is it kind of a 90’s sentiment, with the slacking and all? Sure. But it’s also super-catchy, uptempo and a little bit anthemic; the kind of song that makes you feel a little better about working in an office.
Today, though, I fell in love with this song:
Precision Auto
This is one of the most insistently catchy songs I have ever heard. Such energy.
I had to fight to urge to just put these two songs on loop all day today.

about
This is like what 5dots.net used to be, before it stopped being a blog.
The focus here is on sharing mp3s of things that I listen to and like (though occasionally I might share non-music things, as I have in the past).
All music is shared using Dropbox, and will be direct links to mp3 files - no yousendit or anything like that.
If you like what I'm sharing, or that I'm sharing, comments and feedback are appreciated. To be perfectly honest, I probably won't share music if I don't think anyone's listening, so your support is worthwhile.
Finally, if you're inclined, you can ask me questions.
